Frequently Asked Questions

What crops can I sow?

You can grow cereal, pasture, pulse, legume and large seed crops such as corn and soy bean. Sowing rates start at 0.5 kg/ha.

How accurate is seed depth placement?

Very. Due to the front guide wheels rolling the soil in front of the seed coulters, they will follow the terrain and maintain a consistent seed depth across the full width of the 3m or 4m Nova Combi Seed Drills.

Is seed and fertiliser distributed through the same boot?

No, the seed and fertiliser are distributed through separate seed boots and are even placed at different heights in the soil. The fertiliser is distributed lower than the see allowing for the roots of the germinated seeds to access the fertilised soils below the seeds.

How accurate is the seed distributed along the rows?

Each seed boot received seed from an individual metering roller (gravity fed) which is driven off a ground engaged wheel. This is a simple and very reliable system to ensure ultimate seed accuracy along the rows. The full Section control machines have a 2 x section setup allowing for more accurate seed placement along the rows when sowing along contours. Watch the video above for a demonstration.

What tractor size is required?

The 3m Nova Combi requires 90hp minimum and the 4m Nova Combi requires 120hp minimum.
