Rotors

Heavy-Duty Rotor Wings for Efficient Stone Windrowing

KIVI-PEKKA rotor wings are engineered with robust steel pegs welded through durable rotor cylinders, ensuring long-lasting performance in tough field conditions. The adjustable height feature allows the rotors to operate just below the soil surface, effectively guiding stones toward the central pickup assembly for optimal collection.

Driven by a PTO shaft and a triple-belt pulley system, the rotors feature a built-in fail-safe mechanism: the belts are designed to slip if the rotors encounter a reef rock or obstruction, preventing damage and minimizing downtime.

This simple yet highly effective system reliably windrows stones ranging in size from 2.5 cm to 50 cm, making it ideal for a wide range of field conditions.

Flex Drum

Smart Flex Drum Design for Maximum Stone Handling Efficiency

The lifting drum's power transmission is integrated along the drum frame, allowing the entire unit to flex upward when encountering large obstacles—enabling it to lift stones up to 50 cm in diameter with ease. A hydraulic pressure accumulator ensures that the Flex Drum smoothly rides over large stones without causing impact damage.

For added convenience, the drum can be fully raised via the hydraulic system to clear any lodged stones quickly and efficiently. This eliminates the need for a reversing function, reducing downtime and simplifying operation.

The Flex Drum’s built-in suspension system protects the pickup sieve and tines from excessive wear caused by direct stone contact, significantly extending component life. With its flexible, forward-moving design, even large stones can be collected without stopping—boosting productivity in every pass.

Flex Drum Tines

Durable Flex Drum Tine System for Seamless Stone Collection

The KIVI-PEKKA Flex Drum Tines are engineered in three sizes—30 mm, 40 mm, and 50 mm—to precisely match the pickup sieve. Designed for performance, their flexible motion allows for efficient collection of stones ranging from 2.5 cm up to 50 cm in diameter, lifting and transferring them smoothly into the stone hopper.

Thanks to their multi-point engagement design, the system ensures reliable stone capture: if one tine glides over a large rock, subsequent tines engage and deliver it to the hopper. This intelligent design eliminates the need for a reversing mechanism, reducing mechanical complexity and increasing operational efficiency.

Featuring 13 high-strength tines per drum, the system delivers exceptional durability and extended service intervals. Each tine is supported by auxiliary springs and suspended with rubber buffers to absorb impact and protect the machine. Even in the event of tine breakage, the stone picker continues to operate effectively—minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity in the field.

Pickup Sieve

Heavy-Duty Welded Sieve for Efficient Stone Separation

The KIVI-PEKKA welded sieve is crafted from high-strength, special-alloy steel and is available in 30 mm, 40 mm, and 50 mm bar spacing to suit varying soil and stone conditions. Designed for durability and performance, the sieve allows the tines to run through the entire length of the bars, ensuring consistent cleaning action and preventing rocks from jamming.

Engineered for both cultivated and uneven terrain, the scoop can operate just below the soil surface—allowing it to lift and separate semi-buried stones with ease. This design enhances stone collection efficiency while minimizing soil disturbance, making it ideal for agricultural and landscaping applications.

Hydraulic Functions

Simple, Low-Flow Hydraulic System with Full Functionality

The KIVI-PEKKA hydraulic system is designed for efficiency, operating with a low-flow requirement while delivering full control across all key machine functions. Operators benefit from intuitive hydraulic management that includes:

  • Rotor Wing Lift & Transport Lock – Easily raise the rotor wings and secure them for safe road transport.

  • Stone Hopper Lift & Dump – Smoothly raise and tip the hopper; equipped with locking taps.

  • Flex Drum Lift with Accumulator Pressure – Hydraulically lift the flex drum and maintain optimal pressure via a built-in accumulator, allowing for smooth operation over large stones.

  • Drawbar Height Adjustment – Adjust the working height of the sieve to maintain consistent depth and ground contact across varying terrain.

This system ensures precise, reliable control without the need for high hydraulic flow rates, making it compatible with a wide range of tractors.

ISO-BUS

ISOBUS Automation for Effortless, Intelligent Operation

KIVI-PEKKA stone pickers equipped with ISOBUS control take automation to the next level. An ultrasonic sensor monitors ground contours and automatically adjusts the working depth in real time. If stone volume suddenly increases and starts to overload the system, the machine responds instantly—lightening the rotor and raising the Flex Drum to prevent blockages. Once the load returns to normal, the components resume their original positions automatically.

At headlands or field ends, a single button lifts the entire machine and pauses the PTO, streamlining turns and reducing operator fatigue. Additionally, the system is designed to automatically lift the picker when the PTO is disengaged or if the tractor begins to reverse.

This smart automation not only simplifies operation, allowing long workdays with less strain, but also helps to extend the life of key components by avoiding excessive wear and mechanical stress.
