FAQ’s
What Tractor Size is recommended?
You only need 70hp. The large hopper is balanced to the chassis when raised so you don’t need a large tractor to counter balance the weight of the hopper fully raised.
Can the Kivi Pekka 4 pickup Timber?
Yes, the KP 4 successfully picks up sticks, orchard pruning and even ex. tree country. Depends on timber size and length.
Do you have to replace a Spring Drum Tine if it breaks?
You can keep operating the picker with a broken tine (same as all Kivi Pekka models). It will still successfully pickup rocks with a broken tine or two, and you can replace the tine when you conduct your daily machine checks.
What is the required operating speed while picking rocks?
1 to 6km/hr is the required speed. This allows the best picking job while driving slow enough to prevent any damage by hitting a reef rock. I’m talking damage to the tractor drawbar.
What happens when you hit a reef rock while picking?
The drawbar cylinder has a “rock jump” assembly that allows the picker to jump over a large reef rock that prevents damage to the rear of the tractor. The Kivi Pekka stone pickers are design to handle hitting reef rocks, but is your Tractor?
